The department of Otolaryngology at Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana is one of the best equipped and is known all over the country for its academics and quality work.

The department was started in 1969 with Dr. Som Nath Gupta as the first Head, under whose dynamic leadership the department grew to glorious heights by acquiring all the latest equipment available in the field at that time for all kinds of ENT investigations and surgeries. After his honourable retirement in 1992, the reins were taken over by Dr. R.S. Grewal until 1996, Dr. A.S. Khurana,then by Dr Hemant Chopra.Dr Manish Munjal took over as head in April 2016 till January 2025.

  Presently Department is headed by Dr Rohit Verma.

The good work of his predecessors is being taken forward to further glory by adding State-of-Art equipment every year. The entire faculty is totally dedicated towards undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. M.S. and D.L.O. courses are duly recognised by the Medical Council of India. The department is organising yearly hands-on as well as Live Endoscopic Sinus Surgery Workshop which is well attended and appreciated at the National Level.
